A warm and sunny weekend welcomed leaders from Nursing and Patient Care Services as they embarked on an exciting adventure at Shercon Resort and Ecology Park in Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas, on September 7-8, 2024. Facilitated by Traverse Outdoor, the event featured various team-building activities designed to enhance collaboration and camaraderie among participants. The nursing leaders were organized into five teams, each represented by a color: Red, led by CNO Eda Bernadette Bodegon; Yellow, led by AVP-SNU Alexander Sangoyo; Orange, led by AVP-GNU Nerissa Lagarico; Blue, led by COI-Cluster Head Cyrine Sarmiento; and Green, led by AVP-NSS Daryl Jeremiah Gaba.
Each team was tasked with creating a cheer, fostering camaraderie as they got to know one another. This event was particularly timely, as the NPCS leadership group welcomed newly promoted managers and associate managers. The teams showcased their creativity with well-thought-out chants and yells, setting a spirited tone for the set of planned activities. Following the cheer creation, participants engaged in a series of games that emphasized focus and teamwork, with many activities also testing physical agility. Amidst the fun and the forging of new friendships, the NPCS leaders enjoyed delicious food and drinks served throughout the day. The natural beauty of the venue, with its lush greenery and stunning views of Taal Volcano, provided a refreshing backdrop to the festivities.
After an exhilarating competition, Team Green emerged as champions, with Team Blue taking second place, Team Orange in third, Team Yellow in fourth, and Red in fifth. This friendly rivalry not only sparked new connections but also strengthened existing relationships among team members. Trust, respect, and harmony were evident throughout every activity.
In the evening, leaders were invited to unwind through various recreational activities that allowed them to relax and express themselves in a safe space. Early risers the next day enjoyed breathtaking views as the sunrise illuminated Taal Volcano. More food and adventures awaited the leaders, with tower activities available for everyone to explore their adventurous side. Options included ziplining, rappelling, wall climbing, ATV driving, and go-karting for those young at heart.
The success of this event hinges on the active and engaged participation of all leaders involved. This occasion has not only brought leaders closer together but has also revealed their potential and fostered an appreciation for the value each individual brings, both in their roles and beyond.
