- Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse
Registered Nurses assigned in the Cardiac Cathlab are specialized in cardiovascular nursing and highly skilled to assist the interventionist in catheterization. The Cath lab nurse provides the overall nursing care and coordinates with the medical team to ensure that door-to-balloon time is achieved.
- Critical Care Nurse (Adult, Pediatric and Neonates)
MakatiMed Critical Care Nurses are trained and highly skilled to provide the best quality care for patients in need of intensive care and treatment. ICU nurses undergo specialty training to perform lifesaving procedures at the bedside such as Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD).
- Dialysis Nurse
Registered Nurses in the Renal Care Unit are trained and certified by the Renal Nurses Association of the Philippines to provide care and treatment to patients suffering from acute and chronic kidney diseases. The dialysis nurse is specialized and skilled to render renal replacement therapies such as hemodialysis, hemofiltration, hemodiafiltration and peritoneal dialysis.
- Emergency Nurse
Emergency Nurses or ER Nurses are the frontliners tasked to carry out immediate and urgent care to patients in the Emergency Department. The Triage nurse is a specialty wherein the vital role of the nurse is to prioritize admission and help determine the required level of care. Nurses also undergo specialty training in trauma to effectively provide care to patients suffering from major injuries such as falls, vehicular accidents and puncture wounds.
- Endoscopy Nurse
Registered Nurses in Endoscopy have acquired specialized knowledge about gastrointestinal disorders and are proficient in handling endoscopic equipment. The endoscopy nurse collaborates with the physicians and other health professionals to screen and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of gastroenterological conditions.
- Oncology Nurse
Registered Nurses assigned in the Cancer Center and Oncology inpatient units are specially trained to provide care and treatment to patients suffering from Cancer. The oncology nurse ensures safe administration of chemotherapy and is involved with patient and family education and serves as a coordinator for the multidisciplinary team.
- Pain Management Nurse
Registered Nurses assigned in the Pain Management Services are specialized in the care of patients with acute and chronic pain. The pain management nurse is an expert in pain assessment and intervention. They also serve as a liaison between the patient and the physician to determine the effectiveness of the medication. The nurse makes the necessary adjustments to improve patient’s level of pain.
- Perioperative Nurse (Operating Room and Delivery Room)
Registered Nurses assigned in the surgical units of MMC are specialized in the field of perioperative nursing. The nurse may serve as a scrub nurse, handling the surgical instruments and supplies for the operation, or as a circulating nurse managing the overall nursing care in the operating room and coordinating with the surgical team to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. Nurses assigned in the Delivery Room are knowledgeable and skilled in the field of obstetrics and maternal and child to guarantee the care and safety of mothers and their newborn.
- Transplant Nurse
Transplant Nurses are specialized in the care of both the organ transplant recipient and the living donor.
As an expert of this field, the transplant nurse and coordinator prepare the patient for the process and provides education on the procedure, expected recovery and risks.
